A Message From the Principal

  • Dear Families,
On behalf of the teachers, administration and staff, I’d like to welcome you to Memorial Elementary School.  I look forward to this school year with great enthusiasm.  Like your children and possibly some of you, I am proud to say that I attended Memorial Elementary School.  It hasn’t changed very much.  It still sparkles and remains a special place to be.  The teachers and staff are caring, dedicated and full of life!
We are proud that our school, along with Brookside Elementary School and Woodland Elementary School, is accredited by the National England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
Memorial Elementary School has a staff of seventy dedicated teachers, assistants, paraprofessionals, administrators and other service providers who work with a current population of 470 students.
As stated in our philosophy and mission statement, we are dedicated to the development of the whole person:
“Memorial Elementary School values the individual learner while fostering respect and cooperation within a safe and diverse environment.  We encourage a collaborative partnership with staff, students, parents and community to support our students in their personal, academic and social growth.”
The Memorial School staff works diligently to meet the principles of our mission and to provide the very best education possible for our students.
We welcome and invite you to join us for what will be a very exciting and rewarding school year.  We encourage each of you to become involved in your child’s education by joining our PTO and School Council.  I want you to feel free to correspond with my office and your child(ren)’s teacher and join us for the many programs offered to our parents and children throughout the school year.
    Welcome back!

    Lisa M. Burns
