Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Gina Burd
I am beginning my eleventh year as an English teacher at Milford High School. In my classroom, the focus is on improving both critical thinking and writing skills; these skills will be invaluable to all students in whatever path they choose after MHS.
I earned a BA degree at Wheaton College in Creative Writing and English Literature in 2002. In 2005, I completed my MA degree in English Literature and Writing at Brandeis University. My graduate coursework focused predominantly on American and women’s literature.
I am also the Peer Mediation coordinator; the program focuses on resolving conflict and building a positive social atmosphere at the school. It is incredibly important to me that a safe, comfortable learning environment is created by emphasizing the importance of equality, tolerance, and respect.
I am always available before or after school for extra help on an upcoming essay or assignment!
