• Practical Arts Department Philosophy

    The Practical Arts Department includes Business Education, Computer Science, Visual Communications Technology, Engineering Technology and Family and Consumer Science. As a department we will provide opportunities for students to explore a number of different career paths.
     
    Students enrolled in our classes will develop critical thinking skills, self-discipline and personal responsibility. In addition they will be required to demonstrate respect for themselves, others and the unique equipment used in these career areas.

    The students sometimes usually communicate in their oral and written work, utilizing a variety of visual and communication skills. They occasionally use critical thinking skills using information technology.
    Students recognize and fulfill to some degree their duties as students and citizens.
    Students demonstrate an awareness and appreciation for cultural diversity, themselves, and others.
    Needs Improvement
    The students rarely communicate in their oral and written work, some visual and communication skills. They need to develop critical thinking skills through the use of technology.
    Students recognize to a limited degree their duties as students and citizens.
    Students demonstrate limited respect for cultural diversity, themselves, and others.
