• English Department Philosophy

The English Department of Milford High School believes that education is best offered in a classroom setting in which all students and instructors work together to facilitate learning. The most important focus of the curriculum is to provide equal educational opportunities in order to deepen students’ awareness of themselves and others. The English Department also believes that language is a tool that promotes thought, understanding, acceptance, communication, and respect. The aim of all instruction embraces the habit of thinking clearly, logically, and creatively. Finally, students are expected to learn skills in reading, writing, and speaking that have application to life-long learning.
