Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Jennifer Mele
I have been teaching 7th grade science at Stacy Middle School since August 2007.
I hold a bachelor degree in Geology from Hartwick College. My senior thesis “Charlestown Meadows, Westborough, Massachusetts. An Archaegeophysical Method Survey.” was published in the summer 1990 issue of the Massachusetts Archaeological Society Quarterly Newsletter.
I was then employed as an environmental scientist for Weston Geophysical and Geraghty & Miller; 2 different environmental consulting firms.
In a career change, I took nursing classes, then worked in the medical field as a medical assistant and medical coder. Using my acquired knowledge, I was employed to teach clinical and office medical assisting at Bryant & Stratton College and then Sawyer College in Cleveland, Ohio. I was also concurrently employed as a medical coding trainer for Emergency Billing Systems.
In May 2007 I received my Master’s in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, specializing in middle school instruction. My Massachusetts educational license is in General Science grades 5-8.
