Welcome to my classroom page!
My name is Nick Liberto, and I teach 5th grade Social Studies on Team 8 here at Woodland. Previously, I worked for 8 years at Stacy Middle School in Milford at the same position. I graduated from Milford High School (Class of 2003) and went on to Westfield State College (now Westfield State University) where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History. I then received my Master's Degree in Teaching from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Beyond that, I proudly serve in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. I originally served as a Field Artillery Sergeant, and now I train new soldiers coming into the Army. I live with my wife, Alanna, who is a kindergarten teacher in Medway, and our two children, our daughter Harper and our son, Sawyer.
I believe that to be a successful educator, one must be passionate about the content they teach. American History is a passion of mine, and I am always seeking out opportunities to enrich not just my teaching skills but also the content that I teach. From 2010-2012, I was a participant in a Teaching American History Grant program, where I met with other educators from across the Commonwealth to discuss American history, how we teach it, and how we can better understand it. In turn, I was able to take the knowledge and information I learned over the course of those three years and use it to better educate my students.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Woodland Elementary School at 508-478-1186. I am looking forward to a successful school year with you and your child!
