• Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Bus students, walkers and students driven to school by their parents will be allowed to enter the building at 8:15am. Please have your children to school on time. Students are strongly discouraged from arriving before the 8:15am arrival time because there will benosupervision before 8:15am.

Bus/van students will be dropped off at the bus loop between 8:15am - 8:30am. Students using these modes of transportation will be dropped off in the bus loop and will be directed into the school.

Students transported to school by car should be dropped off no earlier than 8:15am. Families may drop off their child on Walnut Street, (north side), Emmons or Grant Streets. Parents are asked to use the Crossing Guard located at the intersection of Grant & Walnut Streets when crossing Walnut Street. The Bus Loop will be closed when the first bus enters the bus loop, approximately 8:10 a.m. Families are asked to not drop off their child(ren) in the school’s parking lot. This is not a safe area for children to exit and enter a vehicle. After the buses vacate the bus loop parents may enter the bus loop for tardy arrivals. The approximate time would be 8:25 a.m.   For tardy arrivals, if there is no adult outside you will need to walk your child into the building and sign him/her in. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Students walking to school should walk to the crossing guard and cross at the crosswalk. Students will then proceed along the walkway and enter the school, no earlier than 8:15 AM.

School dismissal is at 2:50 PM. Early dismissal will not occur after 2:30 PM. Please remember that for the sake of safety the school door is locked during the entire school day. This will hold true at dismissal as well. Parents, guardians and other family members are asked to wait outside during the dismissal procedure. You are welcome to meet your child outside the door.  The students will proceed through the front lobby then to the bus loop in a quiet, orderly fashion.  Staff members will be on duty to supervise all dismissal procedures.

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT THE BUS LOOP IS TO BE USED EXCLUSIVELY FOR BUSES & VANS.  Injured/disabled students may use the bus loop for arrival and dismissal.  Please let the office know if this is the case for your child.

Walkers should stay on the sidewalk and cross with the crossing guard at the crosswalk.

No bicycles are allowed at school.
