Transportation Department

General Information

Bus assignments were created with the current information in our student information database.  If you had a change of address during the summer and did not alert the schools to this change, please contact the Family Resource Center to make arrangements as soon as possible so we can properly assign your student to a bus.

  • To find your child's bus route and bus stop, find the intersection of streets (or the address) closest to your home location.  This is where your child will be picked up or dropped off.  Bus stops and bus numbers are typically the same for the morning and afternoon.
  • Children should not board any bus in the area. Children should only board their assigned bus.
  • Bus numbers, stops, and routes might change from year to year, so please check the routes.  Don’t assume your child’s bus number and stop are the same from last year.
  • Bus assignments are subject to change based on enrollment.  You will be notified in advance if a change is needed during the year.
  • Students must board and get off at the same location and can not have multiple stops.
  • If your child has a change in arrival, dismissal, or travel plans, please make sure each school office knows.  This applies for a daily change or a permanent change.  Anything different from the normal, expected plan should be reported to your child’s school.
  • If you have a question, please ask staff at your child’s school during Open House on Thursday, or call the school's Main Office.  Please visit our website for school contact information.
  • Parents should allow for 10 minutes before the bus usually arrives due to traffic or weather.
  • Specialized van or bus transportation is designated by a child’s IEP only.
    • Walk Zones are as follows:
    • MHS (2 miles)
    • Stacy Middle School (1.5 miles)
    • Woodland (1 mile)
    • Brookside (1 mile)
    • Memorial (1 mile)
    • Kindergarten (All students bussed)

The district provides transportation to students in grades K-12 as detailed in the Milford School Committee Policy File EEAA:  Walkers and Riders

Effective transportation service requires cooperation among bus drivers & staff, school administrators, students and parents/guardians.  Transportation rules and procedures are provided so you can be familiar with our expectations and the transportation procedures.

The Transportation Office is located in the Milford High School. Please contact the Director of Transportation with any questions or concerns.
