Welcome Message

Dear Families,
Welcome to the Milford Public Schools! On behalf of the faculty, it is my great pleasure to share our commitment to provide the highest quality educational experiences for all of our students. We serve more than 4,600 students in six school programs from Pre-K through high school. The Milford Public Schools is an educational community that is focused on the success and growth of every student. Our graduates are ready for success in college and careers and prepared to compete in a complex global economy.

The Milford Public Schools play a critical and integral role in the community. We strongly value relationships with families, community organizations, and businesses. These relationships only make the connections stronger. We are preparing students to enter a world that is rapidly changing and growing smaller every day due to innovation and developments in technology. Students have opportunities to engage in STEM activities beginning in elementary school and building into robotics, computer science, and design courses at the high school level. Our students speak more than forty different languages which provide a rich and diverse cultural context for learning. Students can study four different languages at the high school level and travel to China, France, Italy, or Spain through our exchange programs.

Whether it is in the classroom, on stage, or on our athletic fields, we hold all of our students to the highest expectations. Our faculty and staff understand that each child is unique and develops academically, socially, and emotionally at different rates. Our goal is to develop and support learners who are prepared to think critically and creatively, problem solve, and are flexible and adaptive to our changing world. The Milford Public Schools curriculum provides a wealth of opportunities both within and outside of the classroom. At Milford High School we offer more than 150 different courses,  including twenty Advanced Placement and Early College courses, 29 athletic teams that compete in the Hockomock League, extensive opportunities for performing and visual arts, and academic and social supports for all students. Stacy Middle School offers students a challenging academic program in a supportive team-based setting that allows for personalization and differentiation. Woodland Elementary School provides a technology-rich environment that encourages collaboration and fosters a love of learning. Brookside and Memorial Elementary Schools are nurturing environments for students to develop their literacy and mathematics skills that provide the foundation for future success.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the superintendent of the Milford Public Schools. Welcome to our community and I encourage you to take full advantage of our many high quality academic and extracurricular offerings. There are always great things happening across our district on a daily basis!

Sincerely,

Kevin McIntyre, Ed.D.
