Ms. Anita Amante, MSW, LICSW

  • Dear Families and Community Members,

I would just like to write a note to introduce myself. I am the new social worker for preK-5. I am so excited to join MPS and am eager to help support the wonderful social emotional goals of this district! My role will be to connect the school with the community by helping direct families to resources, and serving as a liaison to providers and state agencies.

A little about myself: I am a graduate of College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA (BA in Psychology) and Boston College Graduate School of Social Work (MSW in Clinical Social Work). After graduation I completed my boards and obtained my licensure (LCSW) and two years later after further training and exam, obtained my licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).  I come most recently from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Central Ma Area Office, where I worked as a clinician for the past 5 1/2 years. In my role there I evaluated children, adolescents, and young adults, provided consultation both inside and outside of DMH to other state agencies, schools, and providers, participated in many roundtables and meetings. Previously, I have also been an outpatient therapist in office-based, school-based, and in-home settings, supervised CBHI teams, and had my own private psychotherapy practice.

I am a firm believer in social emotional health being the foundation for growth and success in all other domains of our life and am so heartened by the level of support for social emotional learning that I have already seen in the short time I’ve been with MPS. I look forward to working with you all.
