    • Stacy Middle School is "Celebrating Kindness Week" - "It takes strength to be kind, it is not a weakness."
    • All student cell phones need to be powered off and kept in lockers all day.  Anyone caught with a cell phone will be written up.

    • Today is an in-service day for students.  Dismissal will be at 10:27am.

    • There is still time to sign up for one of the after school enrichment programs being offered by the Hockomock YMCA.  Classes offered are:  Hip Hop, Acting and Improv and Animation.  Flyers are available in the Main Office.

    • There will be an after school rehearsal on Tuesday, January 8 for all chorus students auditioning for Central Districts.
    • Student vs. Staff Volleyball game is Thursday, January 10.  Get your permission slips in by Tuesday, January 8 to play.  If you don't want to play, please come and cheer everyone on.  Admission is $5.00 per person at the door.

    • A reminder to the Dear Edwina cast:  There will be a full cast rehearsal this Sunday from 1:00-4:00pm.  An updated rehearsal schedule for the next few weeks has been posted on the bulletin board in the Dear Edwina Google Classroom.
    • Student vs. Staff Volleyball game is Thursday, January 10.  Get your permission slips in by Tuesday, January 8 if you want to play.  If you don't want to play, you can still come and cheer on your fellow classmates or Stacy staff.  $5.00 admission payable at the door.

    • Please return all library books to the Media Center if you are finished with them.  There is a large number of books that need to come back.  Starting after break, if you have overdue books, you will not be allowed to borrow any new ones until they are returned.  See Mrs. Formato with any questions.
    • Circle of Friends is meeting today to cookie decorate.  Pleae come to room 321 at 2:30pm.  Looking forward to seeing all members.

    • Dodgeball event will take place today after school in the Stacy Gym.  Permission slips must be filled out and signed by parent or guardian and the cost to play is $5.00.  Event starts at 2:30pm until 4:00pm.  Parent/Guardians are responsible for pick up in the bus loop lobby.

    • Attention 7th grade Girls Chorus:  Mrs. Barrett will be holding a brief meeting during lunch recess on Tuesday.  Please make every effort to be there.
    • Attention Chorus Students:  Our 6th and 7th grade concert is Tuesday night.  Arrival times are as follows:  Chamber Choir 6:00pm, 7th Grade Girls 6:15pm, Boys Choir 6:15pm and 6th Grade Girls 6:30pm.
    • The Gay-Straight Alliance will have an open house on Friday in Room 109.  Please see Mr. McHale with any questions.

    Thursday, December 6 ~ Day 3

      • There is a water main break on Spruce Street near Stacy Middle School and the Milford Public Library.  This has resulted in Spruce Steet being closed today.  Stacy Middle School parents should plan on lining up and picking students up on Congress Street.  Students will either walk along the sidewalk or through the Town Park to your vehicle.  Students who walk home will leave through the main entrance on School Street.  This will impact our elementary school routes so please plan on buses potentially being later than usual this afternoon.
      • Mrs. Sweeney's Girl Scout Troop 30588 that regularly meets at the Town Library will be cancelled today due to the water main break on Spruce Street.

     Wednesday, December 5 ~ Day 2

    • Circle of Friends will be meeting today at 2:30 pm in Room 321.

    • Chamber Choir will meet tomorrow, December 5 after school.  Attendance is extremely important as it is the last rehersal before the concert.
    • There will be an Outdoor Leadership Club Meeting after school today in Mr. Alcazaren's room (108).  Stop by to submit your vote.

    • There will be a brief meeting after school on Tuesday, December 4 for any 7th and 8th grade chorus students interested in auditioning for the Central Districts.  This meeting will only be 10 minutes.  Please see Mrs. Barrett or Mr. Hawkins if you cannot make the meeting.

    • Congratulations to Jake Hodapp for winning a bronze medal in the Special Olympics state soccer meet.
    • Boys soccer team players need to bring their jerseys to Mr. Cote's room (208) after school.
    • The girls U-12 and U-14 cheer teams finished in first place at their state competitions over the weekend.  They have both qualified for regionals that will be held in New Hampshire.

    • Attention students:  We are about to begin reviewing our handbook and Program of Studies and would like your input.  Please submit recommendations for improving our school to your Student Council representatives.  Your voice matters.
    • Student Council members, please remember to regularly check your Google Classroom page for surveys and updates.
    • Circle of Friends is meeting today in room 321 at 2:30pm.  Circle of Friends will be collecting toiletries, women's and men's socks, gloves, scarves, and non-perishable food to support "Hope for Heroes" for Veterans and deployed troops serving our country.  Please see lists around the school for items to donate.  Boxes will be located in Mrs. Mele's room (224), Mr. Chirco's room (302), Mr. Shuman's room (321),  Mr. Zaccarino's room (092), and Mrs. Burke's room (124).
    • Online registration is now open for the Wachusett Ski and Snowboard program starting in January, 2019.  Forms will be available at the Student Window.  Deadline for registration is November 16.

    • Intramural Sports is cancelled this week. It will resume next week in the gym.

    • Boys and Girls Soccer vs Nipmuc has been cancelled today.  Boys should report to Mr. Cote's room after school and the girls should report to Mr. Healey's room.
    • Girls volleyball team should meet in Mr. Macchi's room after school for a quick meeting.
    • To celebrate our World Series champions, Student Council would like everyone to wear their Red Sox gear on Wednesday, October 31.
    • Good luck to the Boys and Girls soccer teams.  Today they had back to Nipmuc in the last game of the season.

    • There will be a French Club Meeting on Thursday, November 1 after school in Ms. Davoren's room, 106.
    • Congratulations to Sydney Kalil for coming in second place and Hillary Madruga for coming in fifth place in yesterdays Cross Country meet vs Foxboro.

    Thursday, October 25 ~ Day 1

    • All students attending the BVT Tour should go directly to the cafeteria this morning after home room.  Buses will be leaving promptly at 8:05 am.
    • The first meeting of the Newspaper Club is today after school in room 215.  Please bring your signed permission slip if you haven't already.
    • Fright Night is tonight from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  Admission is $5.00.  There will be snacks for sale in the cafeteria.  No bags will be allowed in, and no masks or clown costumes are allowed.
    • Boys and Girls Soccer have their last game of the season today at Fino Field vs Ashland.  Girls play at 3:30 pm and the boys will play at 4:30 pm. 
    • Student Council will meet today after school in room 24.

    • The next Harry Potter Club meeting will be tomorrow, Wednesday, October 24 in room 202.
    • Congratulations to the girls soccer team for beating Nipmuc 3-2 to earn their 10th win.  The boys lost in a tough fought match.  The boys are 1-1 in the series.  Monday they will have a chance to win the series in the final match.

    Monday, October 22 ~ Day 4

    • All girls volleyball players are invited to the Milford High School volleyball game tonight following your match.  Please join them after your game.
    • GSA will meet today at 2:30 pm in Room 109.  Meeting will run until 3:15 pm.  Please see Mr. McHale if you have any questions.
    • As a reminder, all students must have a passport with them at all times during the day.  Lost passports must be immediately reported to their grade level assistant principal.  Once all the spaces are filled on a passport, a new passport will be issued when the original is turned into the principal or assistant principal signed by a parent or guardian.

    Friday, October 19 ~ Day 3

    • The girls soccer team will be practicing at the Town Park today and the boys soccer team will be practing at the Fino Field Annex.
    • Just a reminder that there will be no volleyball game today and there will be no make-up game.  The Millis team has disbanded.
    • Congratulations to the Girls Soccer Team.  They are undefeated 9 - 0 - 0.  Boys played hard and finished with a 1 -1 draw and finished 6 - 2 - 1.  There are 3 more games left.  Last home game is next Thursday.

    Thursday, October 18 ~ Day 2

    • Boys and Girls Soccer will be playing today at Fino Field vs Dedham.  Girls will play at 3:30 pm, Boys will play at 4:30 pm.  Get your coats and hot chocolate and come watch a couple of great matches!
    • Congratulations to Mark Butters for coming in first place yesterday in the Cross Country meet vs Taunton.

    • The informational meeting for the Newspaper Club is today after school in Room 215.

    Friday, October 12 ~ Day 4

    • Girls Volleyball game at Ashland today has been postponed and there will be no practice today.
    • October is National Bullying Awareness Month.  October 24 has been set aside as Unity Day.  Motto for that day is "Together against bullying.  United for kindness, acceptance and inclusion."  Milford Public Schools is asking students and staff to wear Orange on October 24.
    • Congratulations to the following students who will serve as officers for the French Club:  Prachi Meher (Treasurer), Emily Daudelin (Secretary), Mackenna Bogartz (Vice-President) and Sutton Webb (President).  Thank you to all who volunteered for any office and voted.
    • Reminder that the Circle of Friends will be meeting on Monday, October 15.  Please remember your permission forms in order to attend.
    • The Music Department will be hosting another Open Mic Night at Memorial Hall on October 19 at 7:00pm.   Come and perform or come listen.  There will be light refreshments and it is free.  Interested performers should email:  openmicmilfordma@gmail.com.

    • Cross Country practice is cancelled today.
    • Stacy Soccer at Nipmuc/Miscoe Hill is postponed today due to the weather, and there will not be a practice.  Next game will be tomorrow at home.
    • There will be an important Nature's Classroom assembly for all 7th grade students at 10:23 am today in the auditorium.
    • Congratulations to Mark Butters for coming in first place yesterday at the Cross Country meet vs Sharon.

    Wednesday, October 10 ~ Day 2

    • Calling all journalists, photographers, and artists.  The Newspaper Club needs you.  The first informational meeting will be on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 2:15pm in room 215.  Please see Mrs. Mitchell in room 207 for any questions before the meeting.
    • 8th grade screenings will be held in the library all day today.  Students will be called alphabetically by last name.
    • As a reminder, Student Council will meet tomorrow, Thursday, October 11 after school in room 24.  Please be sure to check the Student Council Classroom page for an important announcement.

    • Are you looking for that perfect Snap or Insta?  Are you also interested in getting outside and making new friends?  Then check out the Outdoor Leadership Club.  Come to room 108 to talk with Mr. Alcazaren and the group's returning 8th graders on October 10th from 2:15 pm - 2:30 pm to learn more about the club.

    • The Power of the Pen Writing Club will begin on October 15.  Meetings will be on Mondays after school in Mrs. Monahan's room, 209.  If you are interested, stop by and pick up a permission slip.  If you love creative writing, this may be the club for you.

    Thursday, September 27 ~ Day 6

    • Come and support the Boys and Girls Soccer teams today when they play against Millis at Fino Field.  Boys game is at 3:30 pm and girls will play right after.
    • Volleyball practice after school is cancelled today.
    • Bon Jour!  Do you love everything French?  Then join the French Club.  The first meeting will be Thursday, October 4 after school in Ms. Davoren's room 106.

    • Chamber Choir Auditions will take place today in C06 after school. All 7th and 8th grade performing arts students are welcome.
    • Stacy Middle School's first Student Council Meeting will be tomorrow, Thursday, September 27, after school.

    Tuesday, September 25 ~ Day 4

    • Cross Country outdoor practice is cancelled today, team should meet in Mr. Morley's Room 213 after school.
    • Girls Soccer outside practice is cancelled today, team members should meet in the Fitness Center at 2:30pm.
    • Boys Soccer outside practice is cancelled today, team members should meet in Mr. Cote's Room 208 after school.
    • Intramural Sports will start Wednesday, September 26.  Please meet Ms. Matheson by the bus loop doors at 2:20 pm in your sneakers and athletic clothes.  Students and Ms. Matheson will walk over to the fields together.
    • Attention Band Members:  Join "Banded Together" and receive free lessons from a high school band member.  In December, all "Banded Together" members will perform a song during the Holiday Concert.  Pick up forms from Mr. Samiagio, from Mrs. Haley, Room 223 or at the Student Activity Center.
    • Do you like to compete with others in challenges such as:  The Egg Drop, Tallest Tower or the Strongest Bridge?  If so... join the Science Club.  Pick up a form in Room 223, or by the Science Club display in the Grade 6 hallway or the Student Activity Center.
    • Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Soccer teams on their wins.  Boys won 8-2, Girls had a shut out; 4-0 vs. Ashland.  Home game vs. Millis on Thursday.

    • Good luck to the Girls and Boys soccer teams as they head to Ashland to face the Clockers!  Bus leaves at 2:30pm.

    Friday, September 21 ~ Day 2

    • Chamber Choir Auditions will take place after school on Wednesday, September 26.  Auditions are open to all 7th and 8th grade performing arts students.  Please see Mrs. Barrett in C06 with any questions.
    • Yankee Candle fundraiser has been extended until Friday, September 28.  
    • Congratulations to the Girls and Boys Soccer teams with their win over rival Nipmuc.  Girls had a 4-3 victory and Boys had a shut out 2-0!  Next game is Monday in Ashland and Thursday there will be a home game against Millis.
    • Have you ever wondered what it would be like to experience the magic and excitement of Harry Potter?  If so, then come join fellow fans in Stacy's new Harry Potter Club.  Meetings will begin after school on Wednesday, September 26 in room 202.  See Mr. Delisle with any questions.

    Thursday, September 20 ~ Day 1 

    • All middle school students are eligible to be on the Principal's List or Honorable Mention list.  Their purpose is to recognize academic achievement.  
      • To attain the Principal's List, the following must be met:
        • Students must attain at least a 90 in all subject areas including special subjects.
        • Students must maintain a 1 or 2 in conduct and effort during the marking period in any subject, including special subjects.
      • To attain Honorable Mention, the following criteria must be met:
        • Students must attain at least an 85 in all subject areas, including special subjects.
        • Students must maintain a 1 or 2 in conduct and effort during the marking period in any subject, including special subjects.
    • Please be sure to get your Yankee Candle orders in by Friday, September 21.
    • Good luck to the Boys and Girls Soccer teams in their home opener against Nipmuc today.  The boys play first at 3:30 pm and the girls play right after.
    • Cross Country members need to get on buses #1 and #5 after school to Milford High School.  Meet Coach Morley and Coach Auger at the track at Milford High School.
    • If you haven't gotten an Intramurals Sports permission slip yet, please stop into Guidance and see Ms. Matheson.  The quicker you return the permission slip, the more likely you are to be in the club as space is limited.  Intramural Sports will start Wednesday, September 26 on the Town Park fields.

    Tuesday, September 18, 2018 ~ Day 6

    • Girls Volleyball practice will be held today from 3:45pm to 5:00pm instead of the usual time of 2:45pm.
    • Boys and Girls soccer practice is cancelled today.  Boys should report to Mr. Cote's room, 208 for a team meeting.
    • Cross Country practice will be held indoors today.  Meet Mr. Morley and Ms. Auger outside of the locker rooms after school.
    • Congratulations to the Girls Soccer team with their 3-2 win over Hopkinton.  Boys took a 3-3 tie!  Stay tuned for a call on practice this afternoon.
    • If you have any artwork to pick up from last year, please come by the art rooms and get it by Friday, September 21.  Anything not picked up will be discarded.
    • Please be sure to get your Yankee Candles order in by Friday, September 21, 2018.

    Monday, September 17, 2018 ~ Day 5

    • Good Luck to the Boys and Girls soccer teams!  First game is today against Hopkinton.  Players need to be ready to go in the bus loop at 2:25pm.
    • The girls volleyball team will be playing Medfield today.  Bus will depart at 2:25pm.
    • Stacy Middle School Color Run will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2018.  You can register online until noon on October 11, but if you pre-register before September 19, you will receive a free t-shirt.  Registration can also be done on the day of the race at 8:00am.
    • Students are reminded they must return their Health Update Cards to their homeroom teachers or the nurses as soon as possible.
    • 7th grade students should be turning in their physical/immunization forms to the nuring office as soon as possible too.
    • Attention 6th graders interested in playing intramural sports.  Intramurals will be starting on Wednesday, September 26 and it will be held every Wednesday from 2:20 - 3:20pm at the Milford Town Park fields.  Please see Ms. Matheson in Guidance before Wednesday, September 26 to let her know if you are interested.  You do not have to attend every week and the sport played will change each week.  We will play Ultimate Frisbee the first day.  Everyone is welcome!
    • Milford Community Use will be running a free Girls Basketball Clinic for grade 3-8 on October 1.  You can register for this on line through the Milford Community Use Department, or pick up a flyer from the Student Activity Center outside of Room C7, Mr. Macchi's room 323 or from the Student Window.
    • There will be an introductory meeting for the Circle of Friends Club on Monday, September 17 in room 321 from 2:30 - 3:30 pm.  Please consider making new friends, doing crafts,  giving to others,  playing games and cooking food.  We do it all "one friendship at a time."
    • Attention all students!  Student Council applications are now available.  They can be found in Room 24, 324, the Student Activity Center and at the Student Window.  Applications are due by September 17.  Please see Mrs. Warren and Mrs. Ryan for details.
    • The Franklin YMCA will be having a Python Coding Club.  Meetings start on 11/13 and space is limited.  Please register by calling the Franklin YMCA at 508.528.8708 or you can register on line at hockymca.org/new-technology-club.
