    Please be mindful of classes who are on the playground enjoying recess. For easier transistions and for the safety of the children please refrain from using the playground after the 11:15 pick up.  Also, when arriving for the 11:45am drop off please arrive no earlier than 11:40.
    Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the SSECC conference room from 7pm to 8pm.  
    Reminder when the district has a delay in school start time due to inclement weather, Shining Star Preschool with not hold classes.

    Screening Notice


    The Milford Public Schools’ Shining Star Early Childhood Center offers Special Education screenings for children ages 3 years to 5 years old to assess speech and language development, cognitive development, fine motor and gross motor development. 


    Screenings for the 2018-2019 school year will be held on October 5th, January 4th, March 1st and May 3rd.


    If you have concerns about your child’s development call the preschool at 508-478-1135 ext. 0608 and ask to schedule a preschool screening.

    If your child is going to be absent please call the call-back number (508) 478-1135 and press 2 for the Administrative Assistant, Michelle Costa.  For the safety of our students, Ms. Costa will call families if their child is not in school.  The call back number is also listed under Our School and the

District Announcements



    The Milford Public Schools works with the Cambridge Network and we are currently looking for families to host exchange students for the 2019-2020 school year!  In addition to a loving, nurturing home, the host family would be asked to provide 3 meals a day, a private, furnished room, and transportation to and from school. The stipend to host has increased this year to $1200 per month to help offset costs. Please contact Joanne Routenberg at 617-749-6654 or at with any questions, interest or referrals.
