Massachusetts Department of Health is requiring schools to provide screening for height and weight and then calculating and reporting the BMI(Body Mass Index) for all students in Grades 1,4,7, and 10. The parents will be receiving letters reporting these measurements. This is a general screening, not a diagnosis. These BMI percentiles are provided by the state.

Milford Public Schools will begin online courses through Virtual High School (VHS) on January 25.  There are 15 students enrolled for the spring semester, and 25 students will be enrolled each semester for the 2010-2011 school year.  NBC Nightly News recently ran a piece on online education and highlighted VHS and VHS member school Revere High!  One VHS student at Revere feels her 'Chemicals of Civilization' VHS course helped her get accepted to her first choice college to pursue chemical engineering!
